A Well-dressed chair

Well u ask, exactly what is a "Well dressed chair"? U guys know what a bargain hunter i am, im always seeking out the good deal, and this chair is one of my awesome finds. Its affectionately referred to as my "6 dollar chair", i used it for awhile in my old decore, however its been begging for a makeover for some time now.....

The greenish-yellow velvet is just screaming to be removed.... Ive heard the closet is the best place to look for inspiration......so...........i pulled out this June Cleeverish dress that i hadnt worn in quite awhile.......

And for those of u who are wondering , yes , its only a size 8 4, just so we're straight..........ok, back to the makeover, lol. Now most savvy bloggers know their way around a staple gun, so i wont bore u with all the re-upholstering details. Rip off the old, staple on the new , right?.........Almost, first i had to bust out the spray paint...

Im probably one of the minority that hates the gun attachment thingie. So i usually end up with this....................

Once the paint was dry, i went to work with my trusty staple gun. Lately that thing has really been gettin a workout. So now im in love with a chair aswell as a table .............lol

Isn't she gorgeous! So whatever designer it was that said "look to ur closet for inspiration" was a genius in my book. So ladies never throw out ur old dresses, donate them to a well-deserving chair. Polly Vue bloggies!

Love how you recovered the chair seat with the dress. I even like the seams. I wouldn't have thought I would like it but it looks good like you sewed it up that way intentionally. Great makeover!

Very Clever,Try that with old fur coats sometime. I have pillow shams just like the ones on your bed with the cherub. Thanks for sharing. Richard at My Old Historic House.

One of the best-dressed chairs in the neighborhood, I'm sure. The dress was so small that I'm amazed you had enough material to accomplish the job. :)
