Ive been grappling(is that really a word?) with the idea of wheather i should post the progress on the bedroom or not......since uve all been constantly emailing (not really , but it sounds good , right, lol) with requests to see some photos of the progress, which we are almost done, with just a few minor things to complete. Please bear in mind that the upholstered headboard isnt done yet. I 'll post it when it is, hopefully not too much longer.......
The white duvet cover goes with everything....
The nightstands and a few accessories........
And the canopy, its made from an old lampshade, sprayed white and covered in lace. The lace is like a slipcover and does come off to be washed.......
And the dresser.......
If ude like to see the adjoining master bath take a peek here . I know that was more than a few, but yall asked for it, LOL! Joining Courtney for Feathered Nest Friday at French Country Cottage. Well u ask, exactly what is a "Well dressed chair"? U guys know what a bargain hunter i am, im always seeking out the good deal, and this chair is one of my awesome finds. Its affectionately referred to as my "6 dollar chair", i used it for awhile in my old decore, however its been begging for a makeover for some time now.....
The greenish-yellow velvet is just screaming to be removed.... Ive heard the closet is the best place to look for inspiration......so...........i pulled out this June Cleeverish dress that i hadnt worn in quite awhile.......
And for those of u who are wondering , yes , its only a size 8 4, just so we're straight..........ok, back to the makeover, lol. Now most savvy bloggers know their way around a staple gun, so i wont bore u with all the re-upholstering details. Rip off the old, staple on the new , right?.........Almost, first i had to bust out the spray paint...
Im probably one of the minority that hates the gun attachment thingie. So i usually end up with this....................
Once the paint was dry, i went to work with my trusty staple gun. Lately that thing has really been gettin a workout. So now im in love with a chair aswell as a table .............lol
Isn't she gorgeous! So whatever designer it was that said "look to ur closet for inspiration" was a genius in my book. So ladies never throw out ur old dresses, donate them to a well-deserving chair. Polly Vue bloggies!
Mr. Romantic went outta town with little Romantic for the weekend, while they're away, ive been getting so much spring cleaning done. I stumbled across an old box of photos that ide forgotten about. I thought maybe u guys would get a kick out of some of them. Ive always loved to decorate, ever since i could remember, however ide like to think ive gotten alittle alot better at it as the years have gone by...........Try not to LOL too hard at a few of my faupas...........Renovations have always reeked havok around here, including living with a subfloor and hand-me-down furniture, dont cha just love the couch from the MIL, lol...
I was really proud of the way i could throw a shower, but not sure what i was thinking with those floral drapes, lol....
I found it a good alternative to being able to afford "real" tile just yet, to go ahead and paint the concrete floors in a black n white check..............I thought it looked pretty darn good!
Not quite certain of the insanity that drove me to do that faux finish on the walls, lol.........and just check out that bench to the right, i actually cut those square "tiles" from a wallpaper border, can ya believe that? I was filled with creative genius...........But boy i remember when i discovered slipcovers, omg, they came off and went in the wash.......i looked for new ones every time i went to the superstore.....
I could sure use a paint brush though, I painted the desk/bed/bookshelf thingie. Just look at those bright colors........
But one project i was especially proud of was the playroom, all hand painted by none the less, the Hopeless Romantic herself....Of course the tree has long since been painted over, and a teenager occupies the room, but it was fun looking back..........
So what skeletons are in ur decorating closet??? Joining Sweet Debbie for her Monday Newbie Party and Carrie over at Dittle Dattle for Amaze Me Monday. Seeya there.
When i first started my blog , i didnt really plan on "recipe posts", but really, i think if i dont do this posting i wunt have been true to the spirit of the reasons i blog anyway. I feel compeled to share with u my "Working Mom/no granite countertops Required" spaghetti. My BFF Pattie over at The Shabby Chick , is always making homemade everything. She's Italian, and might have me "whacked" for making spaghetti like this, LOL......so i apologize in advance to Pattie. That being said, start with quality ingredients, simmer everything(except the noodles, lol) in one pan. Drain the meat, add sauce and tomatoes and 2 tlb spoons(or 3) of sugar, just remember ur not baking a cake, lol.......Plate it and top with, as my little son used to call it "sprinkle cheese".............Trust me, make it, and they will come..........Have a wonderful nite everyone!
I told u they would come................LOL, u werent expecting Lady and The Tramp, were ya?
