ADD gone wild.....

Before u read this post , i must warn u all that my ADD is outta control lately. Ive been thinking about the back porch an awful lot since spring and time just keeps slippin , slippin, into the future, LOL( I warned u about the ADD), dont cha love that song? Anyway........we are working on the porch, hopefully soon ile be able to post some "after" pics, and a big porch "reveal".......But first let me show u some excerpts from my lil trip to Ballard Designs yesterday...I found some banquette seating on Craigs lil list, so decided to take a look..........

My CL find however is a lil bit longer, which is a good thing, and the price is a whole lot smaller, less than half. Im tickled about this find and will post soon when i get them home..........While i was there, i was simply mezmorized for at least 10 full minutes by this art work, all the while thinking..........."I can make that"...........Im sure the sales lady thought i was a nut..........

Of course with a more "Romantic" spin on it.........Ule have to stay tuned for that one later..........ON to the porch........First we are adding on some to the deck and doing some much needed repairs..

Then we can begin the painting, which i will be doing all myself....
Ive purchased a few sheer linen panels($4 each, thrift store find), so ile be hanging those around the porch area, also making some lanterns from old flower vases(copycat from another blog found while in a clicking frenze, lol)....

It really is quite a large space.

Should anyone have any suggestions as to the best way to hang these around the porch, im all ears................................................
And last , but not least, my 12ft. long rescued from the trash, bench. I havent decided yet wheather to paint it or just seal it..............Guess ule just have to wait and see, LOL. Happy Fathers Day everyone!

Like a good Neighbor..........

Yesterday we had a big storm blow thru. It took down quite a few trees and their branches. I just wanted to share a few snapshots of some of the mess around here........The gentleman driving this car  will definately be gettin a new one, fortunately no one was in the back seat, and he was alright.........

We can rest easy now , the storm is gone........so much yard clean up to do though.......

Bad Day

It's only Thurs??? LOL , i was really hoping today was Friday! Ive had the most awful week day. What's a girl to do? ......I stopped by the grocery store fully intending to get dinner, but this was all that landed in the cart......

Just thought ide drop u all a line, while waiting for Mr. Hopeless Mr. Romantic to get home, and let everyone know i am busy working on a few things to share......Everyone have a goodnite, im off to wash the "bad day" right outta my hair, lol.......

8th Grade Formal

My little guy turned 14 today! Thought ide share a few pics of his 8th grade formal. His first. He , his sweetie and a few friends shared a limo to the dance , then off to the landing(downtown), for food and fun......such a milstone indeed. He's such a good kid! Happy Birthday , my dear , sweet boy!

Outta the Picnic Basket

Hi all , i sincerely hope everyone is having a good weekend. Hoping to add to ur outdoor picnic fun, im sharing a fun, summer recipe. It's the kickoff of a new idea........ Ile feature an "Otta the Picnic Basket" recipe every Sunday....This one's not my brainchild, however , i believe ive tweeked just alil bit for the better.........Im making two today, since ill be visiting my sister later..... 

Its absolutely delishous and quite refreshing on a summer day......start with a few simple ingredients, like yogart, coolwhip, instant pudding, canned crushed pineapple, a bakery angelfood cake, and 1lb of fresh strawberries. For all the calorie watchers, yogart, coolwhip, pudding, and even the angelfood, can all be substituted with sugar-free.......

In a large mixing bowl, combine the yougart, pineapple, pudding, and coolwhip. Stir the heck out of it til its mixed really well.

Next in a large dessert bowl(this is a pretty dessert, lol, so use a pretty bowl) start ur first layer with cubed angelfood cake and sliced strawberries, then add a layer of the creamy mixture, keep doing this til the bowl is filled or ya run outta ingredients, lol.

Chill it for a couple hrs. , then serve on some really pretty plates... for a "grown up" variation of the recipe, lightly soak the angelfood cake for just a few minutes, in dark rum. Easy to do with a cookie sheet...........ENJOY and dont forget to stop by next Sunday, for another simple summer recipe thats right "Outta the Picnic Basket"!

Headboard Reveal

I know ur all prob tired of seeing the bedroom, but i promise this will be the last time for a spell........Weve finally finished the slipcovered headboad. Penny did an awesome job! I couldnt waite to show it to all of u. She also finished the curtain for the closet. Really happy i dont have to stare at the clothes anymore......But first a few Mother's Day flowers.......... I'll be joining Debbie for her weekly Newbie Party. Hope to see u there.
