Taylor's room

Only recently has this sweet young lady named Taylor captured our hearts since she's come to live with us.

She's been such a joy to have in our home. We've been tryin to get her room together, and make a place that she can really call home...However, since there isnt an over-abundance of this....

It's all taking just a wee bit longer, lol. Mr. Romantic bought me an old amoire for our 18th wedding anniversary, and i never quite figured out just where to put it til now. After abit of work , it looks fabulous in Taylor's room. She loves it, and ile admit i love the way it turned out. Before...........

And after, freshly painted with leftover pink from the masterbath, lightly golded over the details, and alittle chalkboard paint, leftover from the dining room project.........

Ignore the drawer pulls though, we are replacing them with crystal..

We've recently found a headboard, which ile be working on today,  and painted the walls in "ultra white". We still have window treatments, artwork , and flooring to address, bedding is in the works. Thats all ile say til the big reveal.......ule have to come back soon.................Bonnie

Avonlea

Oh my what a tiring week this has been, much family drama. I wont get into all that though.....LOL. Heres a few alot of  pics of mine and sis' last shopping trip......Welcome to Avonlea, one of the largest Antique malls in Jacksonville. Its one of my favorite places to treasure hunt......Ule find such beautiful , unique furniture there..........They even have a wonderful cafe....

My friend Vanna would simply flip over the collection of amoires....

U can even shop while powdering ur nose.....

Mirrors abound and chandys fall from the ceiling as if suspended from the heavens....

There's something for everyone here...........

Tons of pillows..

I found this table very unique......

And this bench a "must have" swoon worthy piece...

Maybe next trip, we can all go?

A Well-dressed chair

Well u ask, exactly what is a "Well dressed chair"? U guys know what a bargain hunter i am, im always seeking out the good deal, and this chair is one of my awesome finds. Its affectionately referred to as my "6 dollar chair", i used it for awhile in my old decore, however its been begging for a makeover for some time now.....

The greenish-yellow velvet is just screaming to be removed.... Ive heard the closet is the best place to look for inspiration......so...........i pulled out this June Cleeverish dress that i hadnt worn in quite awhile.......

And for those of u who are wondering , yes , its only a size 8 4, just so we're straight..........ok, back to the makeover, lol. Now most savvy bloggers know their way around a staple gun, so i wont bore u with all the re-upholstering details. Rip off the old, staple on the new , right?.........Almost, first i had to bust out the spray paint...

Im probably one of the minority that hates the gun attachment thingie. So i usually end up with this....................

Once the paint was dry, i went to work with my trusty staple gun. Lately that thing has really been gettin a workout. So now im in love with a chair aswell as a table .............lol

Isn't she gorgeous! So whatever designer it was that said "look to ur closet for inspiration" was a genius in my book. So ladies never throw out ur old dresses, donate them to a well-deserving chair. Polly Vue bloggies!
